Ronaldo's Al-Nassr were beaten on penalties in a chaotic King's Cup final on Friday. A 1-1 draw also saw three players sent off before Al-Hilal emerged victorious after a shootout. Ronaldo was also subjected to Messi chants once again, as fans mocked the Portuguese superstar. Meanwhile, injured Al-Hilal star Neymar, who was watching from the stands, was spotted clearly enjoying himself as the chants for his former Barcelona team-mate rang out around the stadium.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
The defeat means that Ronaldo is still yet to win a trophy with his Al-Nassr side following his move to the Middle East from Manchester United in 2022. In the Saudi Pro League, Al-Nassr finished a distant 14 points behind champions Al-Hilal, who completed a domestic double by winning the King's Cup. Yet Ronaldo can console himself with the fact he picked up the Saudi Pro League Golden Boot for 2023-24 after scoring 35 goals in 31 games.
