Prolific frontman leads by exampleTests team-mates in trainingAnother promotion on the cardsWHAT HAPPENED?
Jacob Mendy admits to benefiting from having the prolific frontman around, as he has to contend with him in training on a daily basis. Testing himself against one of the most fearsome forwards in League Two – with Mullin one effort away from reaching 100 goals for the Red Dragons – has helped Mendy to raise his game, meaning that he is better prepared to handle the threat posed by opposition attackers.

Mendy has told the podcast: “I have learned how to deal with very good strikers – how sharp they are and how they do things that not everyone can do. You look at Paul Mullin’s goal the other day [against Grimsby], if that was me than I would try to control the ball and then think after but he thinks instantly when the ball is in the air and makes a decision – the correct decision. It’s things like that I look at and think fast. I want to learn this from him.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Mullin has helped to keep Wrexham in contention for a top-three finish in League Two this season, with the Red Dragons taking aim at back-to-back promotions. Mendy added on that bid: “Right now we are just focused on doing our job and getting the three points every weekend, because that will guarantee promotion. We also focus on what can happen. We definitely want to secure the promotion straight away and then we can focus on maybe winning the league. We definitely want that promotion.”

Hollywood co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are desperate to throw another party in North Wales. Wrexham are currently sat third in League Two – level on points with Mansfield and four adrift of leaders Stockport with five games left to take in.
