Kiko Casilla’s racism case has been drawn out for months and months.
The Spaniard was originally charged by the FA in early November, and we’re still yet to hear what’s going to happen to him.
However, it seems as though the case is going to be settled sooner rather than later.
Indeed, the hearing is set to happen next week, and while there will be a lot of anticipation for the verdict, Phil Hay believes that one outcome is highly likely.
What’s been said then?
The Athletic’s Leeds United correspondent was talking about the upcoming hearing on the latest edition of The Phil Hay Show.

“It looks as if the hearing is going to be held next week, and it’ll be quite a complex affair because you’ve got players from various clubs including Leeds, Charlton and West Brom as well who will be attending to give evidence,” Hay said (The Phil Hay Show 14/2/20 43:30).
“You’ll have written submissions from Leeds, character references for Casilla, who still denies the charge completely, and will do at the hearing.
“But because there is support for Leko’s claim from Macauley Bonne at Charlton who is basically standing with him and saying that ‘yeah he was racially abused’, and the way the FA works means that it’s highly likely that Casilla will be found guilty for this.”
What happens next?
So, if Casilla is found guilty he will be banned for a minimum of six games, and that means that the first-team will have to have a bit of a shakeup.
However, the real question is what will Leeds do next in this situation?
Many fans called for the Spaniard to be sacked due to these accusations a few months ago, and while that is a drastic measure, racism isn’t something to be taken lightly.
The FA can impose their punishment with a ban, but the club still have to deal with this matter internally.
In other news, Marcelo Bielsa was way off the mark with some of his post-match comments this week.
